From MEGALODON, the biggest shark ever; to the Prehistoric snake that could swallow a car; These are 12 Most TERRIFYING Prehistoric Creatures !

12. The Megalodon

11. Giant Scorpions

10. Saber Tooth Tigers

9. Colossus Penguin

8. Enormous Centipedes

7. The Spinosaurus

6. Dakosaurus
This carnivorous lizard weighed about as much as a cow and was about large as a fully grown croc. The name dakosaurus basically translates to “tearing lizard” and lived on earth and its oceans around 150 to 130 million years ago. This is basically a terrifying prehistoric croc with fins and it would tried to rip anything it came into contact with. It most likely would have eaten slow moving animals such as squid and shellfish but it certainly had the teeth and jaws to capture much larger marine reptiles. Fossil remains of this prehistoric creature have been found in places such as England, Russia and Argentina, suggesting that they were a pretty widespread beast.

5. Kronosaurus
The Kronosaurus was somewhat similar to the Dakosaurus only this this was bigger and meaner. It existed around 123 million years ago and was an impressive 30-35 feet long in some cases. It could have weighed a massive 15 tons would would have certainly made it the top reptile in the food chain. No other predator had what it took to defeat the kronosaurus in an underwater battle. This is named after the Greek mythological creature named cronus who would devour it’s own kids. This photo here show someone who discovered a kronosaurus fossil and he’s got lots of bones to dig up! He needs to be careful though because the skulls can measure 3 feet in length!

4. The Velociraptor
This terrifying creature was made famous from films such as Jurassic Park. These are described as being about 6 feet from head to tail and were relatively small in height. They lived about 75 to 71 million years ago and their fossils have been found in places such as Canada and Mongolia But don’t let their size fool you. They’re excellent predators and with many weapons in their arsenal. This included their razor sharp sickle shaped claws on its lower feet that would be used to tear into the skin of their prey. There is some evidence to support the theory that velociraptors would hunt in packs almost like vicious wolves. Despite their portrayals in films, these dinosaurs were somewhat similar to flightless birds and had feathers but with sharp teeth.

3. Titanoboa
If you don’t like snakes you certainly wouldn’t like coming across a titanoboa. These mega snakes lived 60-58 million years ago and hold the record for the longest snakes in the existence of earth. These measure nearly 40 feet long and would have weighed 2500 pounds! These creatures were able to thrive in tropical climates when Earth’s temperature was slightly warmer, causing more rainforests around the globe during the cretaceous period, which took place from 145.5 million years ago to 65.5 million years ago. It could hunt like an alligator but looked similar to a boa constrictor. But it could squeeze the body of unlucky animals until they suffocated, if it chose to. Smaller animals could have just been consumed with one bite. They would have been the same color of a rusting car and would have blended in perfectly with the murky waters

2. Quetzalcoatlus
This is by far the largest bird to ever exist and would have been truly astonishing to witness in real life, maybe even horrifying. These existed sometime in the late cretaceous period and some estimate that these birds would have actually had a wingspan of 52 feet, making it the size of a small aircraft! They could have walked up right at about a size of 35 feet. Normally we imagine birds being a little bit smaller and this was truly more terrifying than big bird from sesame street! Paleontologists debate whether or not this beast was able to fly or not. But if it was capable, it would certainly be able to glide for long distances.

1.The Tyrannosaurus Rex
The most horrifying well-known dinosaur known as the Tyrannosaurus rex would truly be a downright evil looking creature is we ever saw one alive. These lived 68-66 million years ago during the upper cretaceous period. The most complete skeletons we have to date would have these large reptiles measuring in at 40 feet in length and would have weighed an estimated 8 tons. The 15 feet tall creatures would have only eaten meat and even each other. Evidence seems to indicate cannibalism within this species and they would often interact with each other violently, especially when there was a lack of food. We imagine these fights being pretty epic. One thing is certain, if we ever decide to clone any of these terrifying animals, we better be careful.

Quetzalcoatlus was NOT a bird, it was a pterosaur. I do appreciate that you ranked it so high on the list, though.

Chronos isn't "some creature who ate children", he was the father of Zeus in the Greek mythology, and he ate stones thinking they were his children.

Wow, I lost count of all the innacuracies in your video:/ i skipped a few numbers and stopped at the Quetzalcoatl, and probably had like 5 or 6 things before I gave up. Make sure you proofread your dialog instead of off the fly, and be sure to fact check! Some were just huge innacuracies like calling a pterosaur a bird, and some were just mistakes, like saying arthopluera was like a centipede instead of millipede, and kronosaurus had a head around 3ft long. I think you meant to say around 3 meters long. Anyway, best of luck

I smell some bullshit up in here. T-Rex scarier than Spinosaurus? bullcrap. A 60 foot long crocodile with an 8 foot tall sail on its back and giant claws on giant forelimbs that could eat you in a single bite is less scary than a 40 foot long chicken with a big mouth that ate its own brother. Who knew that being more famous means that your lesser known rivals are not as good as you when in reality they are much better. And should I even mention Mr. Sarcosuchus?

And then there are the terror birds. Those things are enough to scare the crap out of me! I do think all the ages of ancient animals could support a video called "The 100 Most Terrifying Creatures of the Past".
