Despite Dennis giving a creepy laugh at the end it’s good that he saved the girls from Slappy, I remember seeing this episode in the auditorium of elementary school

I really love all the close ups of Slappy's face, of course it was obviously done for budget reasons but it has the added effect of being claustrophobic-ly close to him. The creepiest part of the episode is when he looks directly at the camera.

When i was a kid, I found Slappy to be creepy, now he is no Chucky, but something about Slappy was menacing, I gotta give kudos to Cal Dodd for voicing him!

Watching all the Goosebumps episodes with my daughter and loving it. The nostalgia is real!

The music and sound effects in this episode are intense, really add to the atmosphere and horror. Old Goosebumps was so good for that, the haunted mask, welcome to dead house, stay out of the basement, all so good.

11:28 *Cal Dodd* will always be THE voice of Slappy. Jack Black was great, the newest one too, but this cackle performance really says:

*"I take sadistic joy in destroying your life and I'm not even close to done."*

I wish they had brought him back for the new series.
