the knife didn't fail....the knife user failed to comprehend that batoning with a folder is think batoning is useful...with a full tang knife....but with a folder is just dumb....it's not a "test" that should need to be when people do a spine wack....if you're using your knife as a hammer...well...the lock isn't going to hold because a folding knife isn't supposed to be used in that ridiculous...

I've seen benchmade axis lock fail sooner than the Ganzo (like within 2 spine whacks!). Cold steels triad or leaf spring locks are the ONLY folders I would trust doing this type of work with!

I think this is a matter of how well the lock is dialed in. I've seen some vids with Ganzo (and other chinese brands) axis locks, where the lockup was very early and failed a simple spine whack. Some people even grinded the lockbar or the back of the blade to get a wider lock surface. This might be where the consistency of quality control fails on these cheaper chinese blades. (just an observation, I actually own and enjoy a G720 very much :) ). Nice video.

Great Video. The only Lock you can really abuse is a Blacklock like the ones on Cold Steel Knives. Those are supposed to be the best in the business. I don't like that company a lot though due to personal reasons. Still, they locks are really the best. Although the Axis Lock can take quite some abuse too. No Folder can really replace a fixed blade. Many have tried lol

This problem is common on any Ganzo knife with the axis lock. The axis lock pin does not ride far enough forward to adequately engage the blade tang. This results in slippage/failure of the lock under moderate use. I wrote a letter to Ganzo about 1 yr ago as a favor to them about this problem with their axis locks-never heard anything from them. So be it. No more Ganzo's for me.
