That employee laughing at this man should be fired. He obviously has no respect for disabled people.

The employee who approached him understood exactly what he was doing. Damn Bully.

James is awesome. He has worked his tail off for the last few *decades* in Woodinville. He has endured difficulties that would chill the average person to their core. He is a survivor and a hero, in my book. Be well, sir!

James is a big part of my childhood-- he was the sweetest checker at the Kirkland safeway for many many years of my life --- soo happy to see him around and no longer covering his face-- i pray he lives a long life and people honor his disability and his dog. Have not seen him in about 22 years.

He truly seems like the sweetest man and his service dogs are darling. I’m sorry for his loss of his prior fur buddy

We lost our daughter when she was 30 to a rare genetic condition. People don't understand something they've never heard of and sometimes even those closest to you will question the situation. James, your kind soul has touched my icy heart, thank you for speaking up, for all of us. ❤

I hope this shop will apologise and train their staff appropriately.James was very gracious to not want punishment or recompense for their despicable actions

I worked in retail for years and the law, as I understand it, is that an employee can ask;
#1 IS this a service animal
#2 WHAT service does it provide. Period.
Anything beyond that and the employee is out of line.
Someone can correct me if something has changed.

A very clear violation of the American with disabilities act. You can ask what the dogs service is, but not challenge or harass someone. One of their employees is being a pos

This is deeply disappointing. I've been a frequent customer of this particular Value Village for the last few years now. Always had a good experience with them. But now, this incident has cast them in a very unfavorable light. It's shameful how James was treated. To be honest, I don't feel like I want to shop at their location anymore because of this. I do hope the employee who told him to leave and then joked about it with his co-workers was fired.

After all the comments I've seen, this guy sounds like an absolute legend of Washington. And definitely is in my book.
