Windlass modified so that it can either feed the anchor chain to the locker on the Endeavour 37 that is just under the foredeck or down through a hawsepipe to a locker just ahead of the V-berth.

Windlass can rotate to work with either the port side or starboard side anchors on the bow.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. I saw your pictures of the installation of the windlass on the boat. Grat job! We got back from our one year sailing trip to the Bahamas and I was so glad to have the SL500 on my boat. I ended up purchasing 150 ft of 5/16 G4 galvanized chain. I have not experienced any slipping but when I am in deeper water (30ft) and there is heavy pull the chain gets stuck on the gipsy and does not want to slip off into the hole leading to the anchor locker. Hindsight, I think the 3/8 BBB might be a better fit but I chose to buy the G4 since it is stronger and lighter.

I just purchased an SL500 for my Beneteau First 38. I do not trust the electric motors on modern windlasses. Can you tell me what size chain you are using for your windlass?
