Washington Institute senior fellows Andrew Tabler, Jeffrey White, and Simon Henderson have just returned from trips to Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan, Israel, and the Persian Gulf, where they met with members of the Syrian opposition and those providing them with assistance. To discuss their findings, the Institute has convened a Policy Forum in Washington, DC, covering developments within the opposition, the confrontation between the rebels and the regime, the external assistance effort, and the situation of the Syrian people at home and in refugee camps. In particular, the speakers will analyze the potential implications of different U.S. policy stances toward assisting the opposition, an issue that reports suggest is currently under debate within the U.S. government.

Andrew J. Tabler is a senior fellow at The Washington Institute and author of In the Lion's Den: An Eyewitness Account of Washington's Battle with Syria.

Jeffrey White is a defense fellow at the Institute and a former senior defense intelligence officer.

Simon Henderson is the Baker fellow and director of the Gulf and Energy Policy Program at the Institute.
