#Cambridge University’s decision to shift all its face-to-face #learning #online for a year in response to Covid-19 has shaken the basic assumptions about higher education to their core.

While students will still be in dormitories and small class tutorials, it raises questions about the ‘virtual’ future of tertiary education. What will online learning be like? Can institutions get away with charging the same tuition? And what of the rat race of university rankings, preparatory test programs and foreign student recruitment for cash?

From the ever-ballooning cost to whether digital transformation will turn academics into social media influencers, François Picard’s FRANCE 24 panel reflects on what's to come.

Have outdoor classes with social distancing. It's healthier for the kids. Dorm rooms are too confined and dangerous like a nursing home. Where will the students live?

With the internet it's not necessary to attend a university in order to be well educated.

Undergrads with all lectures online will need some help structuring their time. If you start to cut lectures, how can you ever catch up! Of course tutorials will help. And maybe friends deciding to listen together?

In the past 40 years, college tuition has increased 1400% without any value addition or innovation. In 2012, Clayton Christensen predicted 25% of colleges & universities would go out of business over the next 10 to 15 years. By 2018, he raised the number to 50% pre-COVID.

As usual, state supported education is better and more adapt to deal with a pandemics. It has become abundantly clear that nations which provide essential services and utilities under a state funded non-profit systems are far better equipped and prepared to deal with this type of catastrophe which threatens people's lives.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

This life isn't all there is, Heaven and Hell are very real. If you will confess your sins to Jesus Christ with a genuine heart and ask him to save you, he will save you and he will show you that he is real. Don't leave it to late. Once you take your last breath it's a done deal. God Bless
