DBFZ vs DBSZ: Side by Side Comparison

I thought about the similarities of DBFZ and DBSZ, played them in PC and edited my footage carefully (I had to slow and speed up some parts) to compare the scenes I considered alike in both games
Over the last couple days I've made some YouTube Shorts comparing them Side by Side, and now, wanted to make a full video of these with better resolution!
The reason I contrast DBFZ and DBSZ is solely motivated because it is fun see and edit the parts of the games that have similarity, I love both.

Honestly it's not really a contest, FighterZ tries to stay more accurate to the source material while Sparking Zero uses every visual effect up its sleeves to immerse the players.

FighterZ models and animations are still absolutely top tier. ArcSys really made a dream come true by making a traditional DB fighting game with these stunning animations AND spiritually reviving Marvel at the same time. Lightning in a bottle.

That Janemba finish for fighters was truly beautiful

Each one has there own merits, which i think was the point. I like fighterZ commitment to the 2d style and the mouth shapes just look better, but Sparkling definitely have some awesome fx and fun camera work

Most of the “Transformations” in FighterZ are actually just character intros

A thing that I love about both games is how the facial expressions are so accurate and exaggereted

Personally this is borderline apples and oranges both bring a lot of uniqueness to the table. For a 2D fighter, FZ has very stunning detail and sticks close to source material but is limited by the 2D space. SPZ for me feels like im playing an Episode of the anime the game also has great attention to detail in different ways. Both great games in their own rights. Ive played both and think they both do a great justice to the franchise ❤ I lean more towards SPZ but FZ to me is still top when it comes to cinematics. The dramatic finishes are absolutely incredible ❤

I kinda prefer how the characters frames of animation works in fighterZ. Its like that spiderverse feel. Very snappy and comic like

Fighterz is nice but sparking zero makes me feel like I’m fighting in the anime and it looks beautiful!

Sparking Zero is such an incredible game. DBFZ is cool but the 2.5D fighting is so constricting in comparison. The visuals are amazing obviously, but it's a no-brainer given that Arcsys' focus was to imitate the anime frame-by-frame with a fixed camera in comparison to SZ with full 3D range and angles. Plus, I find it crazy ironic that now everyone's raving about DBFZ's visuals when one of the main things that make them that amazing is the low framerate... vs DBSZ having full 60fps+ (like gamers love) but utterly destroying the anime vibe of lower framerates in the process. Goes to show you can't please everybody and will have to compromise one way or another.

Seeing these side by side makes you really appreciate Fighter Z and all the love and care that went into the animating it.

See I was already coming in FighterZ biased but 0:50 alone settles it with how much aura the left one emanates. Galaxy shit.

I am glad to see one creator uploading these with Japanese voices rather than the English dub. Other than that FighterZ is my favorite by far. Granted one of the few studios that can match Ark sys in making the best anime scenes in 3D is Cyber Connect 2. Ark sys have said themselves their method of animating is very hard and it would be easier to do them in 2D animation

Unrelated to actual gameplay, but I feel as though some of FighterZ's unaltered 3D models do look better than some of SZ's, and wpuld love to see a game with that artstyle
