For a gaming headset without a dedicated mic out, it may be bizarre. But the mic test without any features turned on already sounded quite good and even better than those with dedicated mics. Earcups are also replaceable but not the headband which is flooded with PU leather that will definitely flake overtime in ASEAN countries. Overall probably considerable purchase.

It must be Youtube's audio compression at work but I'm not hearing any difference at all in your various tests from 6:42 onwards. Asus Armoury crate is a big no for me as it causes CPU usage problems for my PC.

On the plus side I'm impressed with your style and your thoroughness.

After watching some additional reviews & after all decided to buy it anyway with a return possibility. I was disappointed at 1st, the sound was average & I could not change it in the settings. Until I discovered that I have not installed the armory crate drivers for it correctly & that fixed everything. The mic is good enough for me, but the sound is still of a lower quality than what I would expect at that price. Overall, I would give it an 8/10. It's a bit overpriced for what you get in my opinion, the battery is great though! 1 week playtime without a recharge!

Get the Skullcandy crusher evos instead. You can adjust the massive bass it has, you’ll thank me when you’re playing a war game with explosions and stuff everywhere

What background noises are still coming through on discord that your friends are talking about? Even with the settings on. It clearly blocked out the tv and keyboard clicking noise in your tests.

Ugh, I tend to avoid installing software of most peripherals or just choose the brand/model that does not have software. It gets worse every year.

Ok, either I am deaf but the voice came through clear and when you put noise cancelation on even at mid the sound of the keyboard was almost gone, then on high it was gone, in fact I had to turn the volume right up and even then it seemed to do very well... Not my type of headphone and a bit pricey but the mic sounded okay and noise cancellation certainly did work as far as listening through You Tube...

As to armoury crate, I too have a Z690 Asus motherboard and I had to remove armoury crate as it just was so buggy!

That armoury crate software and the fact that a fair bit of time is needed to tweak them to get to where you want them to sound just puts me off, not paying that kind of money for that kind of experience
