I used a controversial argument... Did it work?

TODAY'S VIDEO:

In today’s video I debate David, a meat eating student who openly admits to viewing animals as resources and whose responses to my questions lead him down a rabbit hole of contradiction. This culminates in an interesting reaction to me using his argument and applying it to a different scenario.

It's always interesting seeing the responses people have when their argument for eating animals is applied to other examples of terrible things we can do to animals! What arguments would you have used if you were debating David?

You can literally hear the cognitive dissonance inside his brain. Like he knows he is not right but he can't make himself accept that he is wrong. So he is trying to find a reason and coming back to the same circular argument.

The fact that some people would treat a dog differently from a pig helps me realize how the concepts of racism, sexism, and the likes were created.

With these videos It always surprises me that students in institutions of higher learning have seemingly never considered their beliefs about anything ever

Fair play to the guy, he was honest and didn't try and argue against the indefensible. It's hard to make the right choice after years of just accepting what we're pummelled with in terms of advertising and societal pressure. Hopefully he'll think about this conversation and maybe make some changes to his lifestyle. Great video Ed, as always.

Any argument for Veganism is controversial in the current world. 😂

"Why are you not against slavery?
Yeah, so, I've been enslaving other people my whole life and I think it's a good source of income, I'm aware that there are other forms of income, and a lot of my friends are against slavery, I just think, in general, i just like to have someone else work for me, and in my opinion it's worth it in that sense."

If you don't understand this explicity analogy, you are an i m m o r a l human been.

people just don't care enough to change. that's the sad truth and the conclusion I've come to after 13 yrs of veganism.

Ed is the champ at getting people to trip over their own words.

With the "is the meal more important than an animal's life" argument, I always think of a KFC wing bucket, when I realise a chicken only has 2 wings. If you order 12 wings, 6 animals have died for your one unhealthy 15min meal.

Damn Ed! That last argument was a literal mic drop 🔥
I hope this kid admits his faults and aligns his actions with his clearly compassionate morals.

"being vegan is the right thing to do" "I prefer taking the easy way out" The guy is spelling it out for himself..

These are the hardest people to argue with because they know that eating animals causes suffering but they simply don't care enough. Ed did a great job here talking with an emotional brick wall

Animal food addiction and the convenience or lazyness from humans in healthy food cooking and planning is the main reason most don't acknowledge veganism! Animals suffering is always hidden to reinforce consumption! 👈🌱💚💪✌️

The circles that people will walk in to try and justify the unjustifiableness are insane.

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate Ed. And I’m not just talking about his unshaken debating skills, but how hard this guy must work. He owns a whole restaurant AND a whole animal sanctuary, AND finds the time to do debate tables, AND STILL consistently creates quality videos for his YouTube channel. And NOT ONCE have I ever heard a single complaint out of his mouth about being tired or anything. Bro, Ed.. idk if you need a break or not, but if or when you do, don’t be scared to take one. We can’t take care of others (animals) if we don’t take care of ourselves first 💚

I took the controversy bait but I am still unsure what part of your argument was controversial. He was the most disappointing type of person. The type of person that doesn't care enough to stop doing what he knows is wrong.
