We needed a bit more light in our kitchen...so i took an old cast-iron horse trough and turned it into an industrial looking lamp.

This is a quick and easy upcycling project that doesn´t even require a whole lot of tools...also the trough was given to me for free.

Let me know what you think in the comments.

Had a bunch of these when I was a kid for dairy cows. Seeing what you have done; I wish I still had access to them. Great work!

Very nice. In 1, 000 years I would never have guessed that was a horse trough....and I live in Kentucky. :)

Wonderful! I love the lamp! Eye protection, eye protection!  When grinding and wire brushing!

That turned out nice - just the right shape for a good reflector. I enjoyed your lateral thinking, so necessary for re-purposing disused objects.

Oh so cool! I grew up on a farm and my dad had repurposed older pig drinking throughs but I had never thought of using them as lamps. Thanks! Daniel

Very creative use of an otherwise rather boring item. The lampshade will last for generations! Nice project. Nice tip on bending the screwytube (whatever its called) ;)
