Why are masks banned on parts of Long Island?

Nassau County legislators voted along party lines to ban face masks. The move made it a misdemeanor, but opponents of the bill say it infringes on first amendment rights. FOX 5 NY’s Lissette Nuñez has the details.

How about instead of punishing everyone they instead put on extra charges when you commit a crime while wearing a mask. I think the reason they didn't do that was because that would give the police more control to stop whoever they want

Welp, it looks like the first time my name will ever be on record because there is no way you'll catch me in public without a mask, these legislators need to cut this rubbish out, my mom is elderly, the first time I removed my mask in public was the first time that I got sick, so my mask is a part of my identity now, it's too late to turn back now.

During covid, some people lost their jobs for not wearing a mask and many people approved of this outcome. Now, the inverse is occurring with penalties and there's an uproar! I guess my body my choice only applies to certain situations and for certain people. Sad!
