Despite all the tension at the border and the government taking steps against Chinese products in the last few years, China has recently become India’s top trading partner. But what and why happened suddenly that India started opening its doors for Chinese investment? Is Atmanirbhar Bharat over?

Boycotting China made goods is a far-fetched dream that will take so so much more to achieve. Even the same people who advocated for boycotting Chinese products started to keep quiet when they realized most of their stuff directly/indirectly come from there. It would be wonderful if India can achieve this; but it won't be easy.

Only solution is 'Make in India'. It increased our rank from 27th in Global exporting countries in 2013 to Rank 5th by 2024 in global exporting countries list with an outstanding $485Billion exports that india now considers in a year.

India is 50 years behind China, China is on a different league even outcompeting the USA and European Union. Currently, India isn't even part of that conversation

As I always said. Manufacture, Manufacture, Manufacture, Manufacture and Manufacture. But, domestic politics and woke opposition led by a certain 50+ youth leader will drag us into the dark ages.

Cooperation with China is important in tech, infra and investment until we reach 10-12 trillion GDP.

For many years all first class seats of flights flying from US west coast to mainland China used to pre booked by Apple who used to send (almost on daily to weekly basis) its American experts and designers to keep a tight loop between them and Chinese manufacturers. The sheer amount of knowledge that was passed onto to Chinese counterpart was unimaginable, no wonder why they created so many of their own home grown smartphone brands that can rival with Samsung and Apple later on. Chinese investing in India atm is nothing but clever tactic to counter "China plus one" policy that was embraced by many big corporations. China will never ever transfer the knowledge with us like Apple did to them, instead it will continue to send prebuilt circuits and components which would finally get assembled in India and then shipped to the world with made in India tag instead of made in China. I know the current gov is desperately trying hard to expand India's manufacturing sector but instead of this cheap assemblies or white labelling they should better focus on modern age of automation and coming up with new manufacturing techniques which are gonna replace hell lot of things in conventional manufacturing. For instance you have US based SpaceX who continue to set a new milestones when it comes manufacturing any sophisticated component without running to China. The sheer amount of groundbreaking work that SpaceX engineers and designers have done in manufacturing alone is nothing short of a miracle because ever since China became world's factory most of the US manufacturing sector was gone, even their iconic steel brands like "Kaiser steel" (company founded by guy who built the great Hoover dam) went out of business in late 1970s, earlier in that same decade (1971 to be precise) China had threw opened its door to FDI.

To India’s credit domestic politics maybe a little messy, but since independence foreign policy with few exceptions has always been stone cold sober. Both past Congress and current BJP have maneuvered intelligently to position India in the best place possible. That being said until India completely dismantles the license Raj and builds reliable infrastructure networks it is not going to get its fair share of foreign investment.

I don't think Chinese companies are interested in investing in India, as most internationals were not able to make money. Even if they make money, they're fined out their profit.
