New drama Nurses premieres Monday, January 6 at 8et/pt on Global.

Synopsis:
Set in Toronto, NURSES follows five young nurses working on the frontlines of a busy downtown hospital, dedicating their lives to helping others, while struggling to help themselves.

The ensemble cast includes Tiera Skovbye (Riverdale) as Grace Knight, a young nurse looking for a fresh start until someone from her past turns up who could jeopardize her career; Natasha Calis (The Possession) as Ashley Collins, a wild and unapologetic adrenaline junky who lives for the fast pace of the hospital; Jordan Johnson-Hinds (Blindspot) as Keon Colby, a former college football star who’s trying to prove he’s more than he was on the field; Sandy Sidhu (Grey’s Anatomy) as Nazneen Khan, the whip-smart daughter from a wealthy family in India who moved to Canada to reinvent herself and is now starting her first job ever; and Donald MacLean Jr. (Workin’ Moms) as Wolf Burke, soft hearted and playful, who has a secret that may find him in over his head.

Along with the young team of nurses, the medical series also features a supporting cast played by Cathy White (Vikings) as Sinead O’Rourke, the head nurse and den mother of the new graduates; Ryan-James Hatanaka (Chicago P.D.) as Dr. Evan Wallace, the charming and attractive head of the ER who gets all the nurses’ attention – especially Grace’s; and Nicola Correia-Damude (Shadowhunters) as Dr. Vanessa Banks, the magnetic OBGYN with a cutting wit who never lets Keon forget a mistake.

Glad to see nurses are getting recognition, I’m curious to see how they portray nurses

“The nurses take crap from patients and take crap from doctors then make it all about the patient”
FINALLY someone said it!
Can’t wait to watch it

That line “we take crap from patients, we take crap from doctors and then we make it about the patient because thats what matters.” Girl I felt that. No one really sees how mentally draining the job can be. Day in day out seeing patients pass away or lose themselves to an illness just breaks you, but then you get little miracles in between or a moment where you feel like you made a difference and it makes up for the pain. I appreciate every nurse out there it’s hard doing what we do.

It’s good to see that nurses are finally getting some recognition. Although this show might get tougher critique, especially with a show like greys that has so much praise.

Finally... show about us 💖
I can speak from personal experience that the rookie year of nursing is brutal.
Hope this turns out well

Before watching: YEY! Finally! A series about nurses!
After watching: Why are there no Filipino nurses?!

I'm so excited to see a show that shows nurses as the true front lines of healthcare. Every member of the team is equally important, but so many shows portray doctors as the main bedside care providers and nurses as nothing more than menial assistants. There are big expectations for this show.

Finally, a show that shows what nurses actually do! Awesome that they are showing men in the nursing field. Hopefully this show will help to change the talk about nursing, making people realize nurses aren't just "doctor assistants."

I got into a freak accident and broke both my ankles and my back. I had 4 surgeons that worked on me and I can never thank them enough for giving me a chance to live my life again. Although they were the miracle workers, my nurses are the ones I promised myself to come back to visit. They all got me through a tough time and I honestly can’t thank them enough.

i believe nurses deserve the credit as most of the healthcare workers as well. we’re the frontrunners and we are the first in line to see what is happening with our patients. in philippines, nurses or other healthcare workers are not treated professionally and its so sad that people dont give a crap about our job. we have to multitask and do alot of things, and yet, people dont treat us with respect. our salary although little is another thing but putting us down is not acceptable. thats why some fellow nurses left the profession is because we are treated this way. the harsh reality of nursing in the philippines.
