Canada calls for China to release former diplomat Michael Kovrig as closed-door trial begins

Canada is calling for China to immediately release former diplomat Michael Kovrig. His trial has begun behind closed-doors in Beijing. Mr Kovrig is the second Canadian citizen to be detained in China on espionage charges. Mr Kovrig and Mr Michael Spavor were detained shortly after Canada arrested senior Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou, in what Canada calls a retaliatory move.

Talking about unjust. Under Canadian extradition laws, a person can only be extradited if the offense they are alleged to have committed in another country is also considered illegal in Canada. Yet Meng was transiting at Canada to Mexico. She was lured into Canada from her transition flight. Canada had no sanctions against Iran when the extradition process began.

The charges are totally different. Canadians are charge with spying/espionage while
Meng is fraud. Trial settings and Sentencing are not the same. It's basically all up to
the countries court to decide (hopefully without bias) the faith of the accused.

If Canada was a real country, this story would not be news and the issue should have and would have been resolved along time ago. I care not for China or its interests and ideology but this international dispute clearly demonstrates that it is no lapdog or satrapee. It is undisputed that modern day Babylon is 100% in charge of Canadian Foreign Policy. The quick and easy solution for Canada if it was a real sovereign country would be to send Madame Meng back home to China and China will send back the two sloppy spies working on behalf of modern day Babylon back home to Canada. Case closed!
