Scarlet is by far Doja's best album! She proved she is a rap legend and not a fad!

I really think Paint the Town Red is the perfect first track to introduce the world of Scarlet. The fact that the FIRST LYRICS we hear are “Bitch, I said what I said” is as blunt of a statement as you can get. Starting with “How my demons look?” does not make as much thematic sense to start out with because Skull and Bones proves that it’s the media and critics projecting the “satan this and satan that”. I get wanting the album to start off with an explosion, but this album is not meant to start that way. The relaxed energy of Walk on By is such a flex. My opinion :)

"Love Life" isn't my favorite song musically, but I love that it's a love letter to her fans and her team for believing in her. It felt very appropriate after how polarizing the Scarlet has been. It felt like she was letting people know that despite all of her trolling and sh*t talking, the real Doja is still here.

I really like WYM Freestyle because in Balut we see that she finishes everything calmly but this is like a reminder like "yes, I could've talked to you about life and elevating stuff but don't forget everything I said before, don't get it twisted" and then we go back to the cycle with Paint The Town Red OMFG

this album was definitely different from her others, and i love that she got creative with it and she became very unapologetic within her lyrics. i also want to point out how a lot of ppl were saying we want the “old doja” and doja actually brought back some of her soundcloud days within certain tracks like agora hills, often, can’t wait, gun, and go off. the real princess🫶🏽🌸 i know this album will be talked about years from now
