Formerly conjoined twin Conner Mirabal went home from Wolfson Children’s Hospital today.

Formerly conjoined twin Conner Mirabal, who underwent a 12-hour separation surgery from his brother Carter on May 7, 2015, was discharged to the new home of his father Bryan Mirabal and mother Michelle Brantley after more than a year in the hospital.

He was transferred from Wolfson Children’s Hospital to Brooks Rehabilitation in late November for intensive inpatient physical, occupational and speech therapies. In mid-December, he returned to Wolfson Children’s Hospital for some necessary pediatric medical and surgical care with his Nemours Children’s Specialty Care, Jacksonville, pediatric surgeons and Wolfson caregivers.

Conner’s twin brother Carter will remain at Wolfson Children’s Hospital for the time being for medical care. His estimated hospital discharge date is not known, but he is doing well.
