The World Health Organisation says Antimicrobial Resistance is one of the top 10 global public health threats.

Antimicrobials - like antibiotics and antivirals - are medicines used to prevent and treat infections. Antimicrobial resistance means that germs develop the ability to defeat the drugs designed to kill them.

What can we do about that?

A question Dr Leon Leanse is trying to answer with his work. The Gibraltarian scientist has been carrying out research in Boston and is now a Senior Research Associate at the University of Gibraltar.
