I'm a casual seller on eBay and I've been selling off and on for a few years on there and I just started charging shipping (buyer pays half of shipping fees) to offset the postage fees. If I knew another mainstream resell site outside of eBay I wouldn't be bothered w/eBay at all because it seems like they get over on sellers with selling & postage fees.

The higher an item you sell the more eBay takes out of your pocket. I'm also not a fan of the payout system either as I have gotten screwed over twice and had money taking out of what I earned to cover postage when I have had my account to take postage from my PayPal account.

I just sold an item on ebay an the buyer has paid for the item and also paid $18 shipping. Now im in the stages of printing out the label but its wanting to take out $15 for shipping out of my total funds. Im confused with this since the buyer paid for shipping and it's trying to charge me for shipping.

Thanks for the insight. Here's a tip for you re: your videos.... If you slow down a little you'll enunciate a little better. Try to think about your viewer whoistryintofollowwhatyouare saying whenthewords get allmashedup. What I find most frustrating is the sample/imagined eBay "possible shipping charges" make little sense. I have an item right now that would go in a small, padded envelope. It won't be 6 x 9 x 4. It will be 6 x 9 by 3/4 of an inch, which isn't allowed as a choice., Currently, USPS Flat rate shipping anywhere in the U.S. is $9.00. eBay shows $8.50 - $12 (I think, I really don't recall because it all becomes a blur of asterisks, footnotes, choices, possibilities). I think a lot of people pad their "handling" charges to cover the slip-ups in shipping. I'd put a lot more stuff on eBay if I didn't have to spend 15-30 minutes each time on an item trying to figure out the shipping.

Q: So, would have been helpful to see the new, improved listing showing shipping. Can you mix and match? And offer either the faster, shipping based on the weight and size? And, offer the flat rate on the same item?
Q: Do you know what happened to insurance? What about insuring an item if you're shipping something fragile? I'll check other vids.

Question please, I am new to this! If I pick calculated shipping and its between say 4 to 12 dollars and the buyer buys but he paid 16 dollars for the item to be mailed in different way. Do I have to ship their way, or can I ship the way I set it at sale, this is a problem for me because their shipping always cost me even more when I go to post office to mail

I understand you can give a customer an added shipping option. How do you do that?

I just sold a camera on ebay for $455+ tax. Ebay took over $60 and shows my payout to me as $416. The buyer also paid $20 additional for shipping aside from the $455. I'm trying to create the shipping label and I think ebay wants to take the $20 additional shipping fee out of my $416 which would mean ebay would get approximately $80. Is this correct?

I always get problems when I have to pay the Shipping label so I’m confused if it’s coming from my bank account or from theirs

Ex: the total the buyer paid was 21$ and they paid 10$ for shipping. Next is getting the shipping label but it says I have to pay from my funds :/
Can someone help me?
