When my son was born they asked us if they wanted us to give him a sugar solution because it's been proven that a small amount of sugar for a newborn stimulates brain development.

Masha'Allah we chose the sunnah of tahneek and we'll do the same for my daughter insha'Allah when she's born in a few weeks. If you're reading this please make dua for my children and may Allah bless yours as well and all the children of the ummah

A friend of mine had a newborn baby with very low blood sugar. The nurses upon noticing ran out to get a sugar water solution and a machine to monitor the child’s health. While they were gone, he performed tahneek. When they came back they noticed everything was normal and fine. The left confused not knowing what happened 😂

I did this with each of my grandchildren. Alhamdullilah I want us to do this to our children who are starving in Gaza and all over the world. InshaAllah

Shiekh ibn othaimeen says that scholars have different opinions about this, some say this was only because it was the prophet peace be upon him so they want to get the child to be blessed with his saliva, some say its for the date's healthy benefits for the child

It's practiced so much here in my country that I thought it was obligatory.

I learned this thing in my child psychology course,
The father is supposed to do this because:
The mother child attachment is easier since she feeds him. And it's hard for the father. The child associates this good thing with the father (since children like sweet) and it becomes easy to form a bond with him.

I did this for my children, in my city this is part of tradition for the Muslim community. we're from 4th century offspring from Malays. I wonder if they still do this in Indonesia / Java or Malaysia etc.

I still prefer the normal videos even if they are 40 minutes long they are still more fun to watch than this live .

I did this by my own to my daughter. Was this wrong? I couldn’t get out of the hospital anyway and it was on the day she was born
