I just bought these as an upgrade from my F7s. I also have played the Fly Z's and have the F8 driver. Rick I've watched you for years and you actually seem to hit Cobra better than most clubs. I'm starting to get a lil agitated with the very minor issues you seem to have with Cobra. If there was a Taylormade logo on these they would've been at the top of your list. Please let's be a lil more realistic. Cobra makes great equipment the issue is it's affordable! Lol. "Clicky" or not these feel and perform great. Excellent flight awesome distance. And there actually isn't a lot of off set as you would like to think. There's less off set compared to the previous F7s.

I bought a custom set of F8's directly from Cobra last week, and am really pleased with them.  Plus, as they are now replaced by the F9 model, you can save $300 and the performance is so close it is a matter of strike in my opinion.  The head is quite compact for a "distance" iron.  I get a nice high, but boring flight, with the Nippon 950GH (stiff) that I chose.  I don't really notice this "clickiness" you are talking about.  If I hit in the sweet spot, the sound is very nice powerful "thunk", if off center then it does have a little of a "click" to it.  5-PW, GW is $599 now while inventory lasts, and that is a really good deal.  I bought the F9 4-iron too as the F8 4-iron is permanently out-of-stock.

Just bought these. Learned single plane swing. Added 20 yds to my irons! Can't believe it. Never thought I'd be hitting my 7 170yds

They could be made completely out of plastic and I would play them if they performed that well. Very accurate shots Rick, maybe you are just having a great day but considering taking them out on the course. Would really enjoy a video with you playing the F8s and Peter Finch playing the F8 one length irons.

I'd like to see you put to the test, by using some £50 Dunlop clubs and see what difference professional clubs make!

Great review Rick, seems like cobra are starting to compete with the big boys of callaway and Taylormade. I'm guessing at a slightly lesser price point. Might even give this range a bash as I'm not keen on the callaway and Taylormade companies constantly bringing out new models mid season and all the Mish mash of model names. Would love to see rob potter give these a bash. As a 9 handicapper here, love his opinion too. Keep up the good work. Big fan 👍

I honestly can't imagine why you would care what it sounds like?

I have the single lengths and LOVE them. The idea of having the same setup across all my irons is fantastic and when struck well I don't lose distance on the lower irons despite them being quite a bit shorter. I definitely have the ability to carry my shorter irons further though (maybe it's b/c of the loft you mention) but I have a great feel for how to gap them properly, they're just easy to use.

Cobra making some good looking clubs again

Rick, forget your tour size, low spin driver, and Wilson blades. You need to be bagging the regular F8 driver, and these F8 irons to go with your 3W. Come on now and admit it.

I enjoy your videos and really appreciate your opinion. A lot of your videos have helped my game considerably. I would like to hear your opinion on the F8 8-PW. I understand that the 8-PW head design is different than the 5-7, and also the GW-SW.

That is a very nice looking set of irons (especially the gap wedge). It looks to be competing with M2/MCGB style of clubs. I would be interested in how well the stop on a green. When I tested an M2 7i against M1 7i I had no difficulty stopping the M1 but found the M2 uncontrollable even though only 2 degrees of loft difference (and I think M2 7i has a higher ball flight). Obviously the problem was the player not the clubs. Subject to that point, that is definitely a set to consider for 12+ HC golfer

There is definitely a click sound that I've found on the f7 one lengths I've had. It feels very soft and sounds clicky, but that's when I know I've hit it well. It's kind of an audible reference for knowing you've hit it well. I liked the f7s, but I like the variable length better.

Some of the straightest and most consistent irons you've ever tested Rick. I thought you'd be raving about these a lot more than you actually did because they outperformed the vast majority of more expensive irons you've tested .

Great review. Looking forward to hearing about one lengths as well. How would you say these compare to the G 400’s? In the market for new irons, so would be interested in your input. Thanks!

I find it funny that the original gap wedges came in because as company's strengthened there irons players were finding a distance gap between there sand wedge and the pitching wedge. Now cobra comes and strengthens there gap wedge and will end up making that same gap now just between there gap wedge and sand wedge.

I had the one length f7 for a year. This yr, i went with cobra fmax one length. Now that I have had them 2 months, i really prefer the fmax to f7 f8. fmax is a little larger, more game improvement, much easier to hit. my bad shots are better.
