Repair A Corrupted Master Boot Record on Windows 11
So you booted your pc up and received a BCD (BSOD) Blue Screen of Death error code? This is related to a corrupt (MBR) Master Boot Record. A effective way of troubleshooting corrupted MBR is to fix/repair Master Boot Record or MBR. One of the common reasons why an MBR can get corrupted is malware infections. Improper shutdowns can also lead to MBR corruption.

Use this commands:
bootrec /fixmbr
bootsect /nt60 SYS
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /scanos
bootrec /rebuildbcd

Please any sort of insight, I've followed your steps but It says 0 Identified windows installations on both C & D drive after getting to the rebuild command, I've never had a virtual machine before.

Hi Brian, thanks for a great vid! Can we expect a guide regarding fixing BCD / MBR / GPT (assuming that HDD/SSD is not broken)? Including how to recognize what partitioning style is being used on a PC, if its UEFI or Legacy etc. There are tons of commands that we can try randomly hoping it will work - but explaining how its actually working and how to use those commands properly is something totally different. Would love to watch that video <3

Hi, I know I'm 4 months late, but I hit a problem last night trying to do a system restore (win11) to a date at the beginning of Dec'22. My PC now won't boot and I keep getting the dreaded critical process died error. When I go to reset my PC it hits an issue trying either of the options. When following this video, I ran the bootrec /rebuildbcd and it identified ZERO windows installations...I'm completely stumped now. :( Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hey everyone, i just got mine working and wanted to let everyone know what i did. I learned from somewhere that you need to hold left shift while
restarting to get to more options, after that i went to system restore and there were restore points whereas previously it wasn’t working. my first restore point didn’t work so i chose another and it did work. i hope everyone can try this and get it working (i also did the command prompt commands listed in these videos just for safe measure and they also worked whereas they didn’t before) so basically i’m telling you to do the left shift restart thing before trying anything of this

Always wondered why Advanced option Reset Windows doesn't provide same opportunity as doing in-place Windows install that saves all apps and data. Why create need to reinstall apps?

Weirdly enough, I get an error message from Windows 11 basically saying that I can't reset the whole operating system, I used secure boot as well as safe mode but I can't even get that to work

Thanks for this amazing video. Can this fix virtual machine vhdx? I am having the same automatic repair issue when attempting to boot a vm from an existing vhdx. I have followed your incredible steps to the part rebuildbcd and realise that your instructions were for physical machines :). Any way or is there a command to finish this off for the vhdx?
