Finally! Panasonic S1R II coming in February!

The Panasonic S1rII is finally going to be announced ahead of the CP+ show. It will have the same Leica SL3 core specs but have decent video and affordable pricing (compared with the Leica).

Sono un felicissimo possessore di una splendida S1R e debbo dire che questa mirrorless professionale è veramente sottovalutata, a volte con i miei colleghi fotografi sento parlare benissimo della loro sony o canon o magari nikon, però quando parlo della mia lumix s1r sembra quasi vedere quei sorrisini sotto i baffi come voler dire che la mia fotocamera sia inferiore a quelle marche, peccato che quando andiamo a sviluppare o pubblicare le foto rimangono a bocca aperta per l'altissima risoluzione che ha la S1r, certo sicuramente non avrà la velocità della MAf di questi brand, ma chi se ne frega, per il tipo di fotografia che faccio io e cioè ritratti va benissimo, non ha mai sgarrato in nessuna occasione, ora aspetto con ansia la nuova S1r mark II e vediamo se ne varrà la pena cambiarla...per ora sono felicissimo così!!!!

i would love love love if they released an uptated box camera like bs1h II or maybe an eva-2, it could also be cool if they updated the varicam line because they're great but have lost some competitive edge, still very used in tv productions at least in spain

About that third camera: since there is an SL3 coming out, doesn't it stand to reason there will also be a regular S1 II ?

Panasonics naming seems to be very confusing from time to time but in this case it seems to be obvious that the camera has to be the S1R-II.
S1, S5 and S9 are three different classes of cameras. The top tier cameras have to be named S1. S2 or S3 would be a lower class of camera between S1 and S5. So it can't be the S2R.
But since it is Panasonic, they also can change the whole system and call it completely different and unexpected.

I am very curious to see which sensor Lumix will use for the S1H II, given that it will probably have nothing to do with the LEICA lineup, nor the S1R II.

Honestly I don't understand why photo cameras are still such a big deal. A camera from 7 years ago is unreal, absolutely amazing! There are no significant advancements needed, TBH. What we need is a full frame video camera that shoots 4k60p, no crop. No one gives a flying F what Panasonic releases for the photo market. All that matters is what they do for videographers, and all they do for videographers is annoy them and keep stringing them along.
