One of my favorites lines / moments from THE WALKING DEAD ... this happens in the last episode of Season One.

I think this was a great end to the first season. The CDC was the last glimpse of the old world and it gets destroyed marking the end of civilization as we know it. It's basically telling the audience the world will never go back to the way it was.

This has got to be one of the greatest moment on the walking dead, it's such a dramatic scene.

It sets the air on fire. No pain. An end to sorrow, grief, regret. Everything!

“It’s better this way.” He was right. He knew how bad the series would get.

1:13 I love Jenner's rant here, it's chilling cause he's basically saying that the CDC could protect humanity from almost any disease, and if they couldn't keep them safe from the walker virus, it's arrival likely marks the end of days for humans.

Jenner made it his dying mission to find a way to stop the virus, and to see this man now so passionately convinced that there's no stopping it is frightening. This finale totally set the tone for the series: no hope, no chance at civilization, just survival until the day comes you're no longer grateful to be alive.

This is the best scenes of all TWD series. His role was too short but cant be forgotten after many years.

''The day will come when you won't be'' - Jenner

“This is what takes us down. This is our extinction event.”

That line always gives me chills. The idea that there could one day be an event which ends the human race… no chance of recovery!

I love how everyone has different reactions like Andrea understands him. Carol is freaking out (although, Carol nowadays would’ve stayed easily lol.)

The music in the background, the clear stress, Shane freaking out, and everything made me love Season 1 more than I already did

Great acting by Noah Emmerich. Great scene. The world we once knew is gone and not coming back.

This one scene has more emotion than seasons 9, 10, and 11 combined

The very moment Jenner found out there was no cure and kept it from the group till this episode is chilling. He knew but didn’t want the group to know and was trying to give them a peaceful end to their lives so they wouldn’t have to live in a world where danger lurks around every corner and witness the true evil side to humanity. He did make it his dying wish to save humanity from the virus but it was too late. It’s a sad situation

This felt so real the first time I saw it, I started crying. Such amazing acting

I feel like this is the biggest ‘What if?’ in Walking Dead history. Imagine how different the narrative would’ve been. Would we have followed another group of survivors? Would the show have completely differentiated from the comics? How would the show look today if these characters all died here?
We’ll never know, but my god this scene was something else. Loved the early days of TWD.

Carol beginning crying during the explanation of the explosive was such an authentic response. She’s an amazing actor. ❤

I think the hidden gem of a series would be Jenner in the final months/weeks/days of his life. From momentarily pre-infection, right up to where he sees and opens the doors for Rick’s group. Almost like a zombie version of “Contagion”. The government collapsing trying to simultaneously contain/learn/destroy the virus, manage law and order, contain the population. It would be like the last chaotic days of every fabled empire

I'll never get sick of Andrew Lincoln's awkward stares as though he's blackout drunk and he's having trouble standing and focusing.

If i had survived this long, I would of took Jenner up on his offer. Dying a fast death, an end to this stupid apocalypse of zombies. Not worry about getting eaten anymore and painfully dying. Just an end to everything like he said. Quick, Painless, mind at peace.
