Will someone tell me what a “first world Christian” is and what that means? There is a comment stating that these lyrics have somehow been taken out of context and used for “personal gain”. How is taking scripture, singing it and applying it to the current times a bad thing? Personal gain in what way? Because there is a YouTube video made? It’s 2021, how else do you reach the masses? Isn’t personal gain all of our gain? Peace, hope and love is just too much “personal gain” at a time like this? If one person finds hope and love and peace, Amen. You are me and I am you. Your gain is my gain. Your peace is my peace. Your hope is my hope. This was brought to the masses at a time filled with immense fear not just individually but collectively. What a beautiful gain for ALL of us. How many people would not have been introduced to scripture and to Gods presence if not for this song. How many would not have experienced hope, how many were brought closer to God by this song?

Gods light comes through many forms. His word, his love, its healing and powerful. I would never think God would want it kept for just a “few”.
I’m thankful for this song. I’m thankful I’m still able to find Gods light in a world full darkness.
