Cob takes up and releases moisture at a different rate than does lime plaster. Dancing Rabbit posted a video showing all the lime layers separated and falling off of the under cob layers after some years. He replaced down to the straw bales themselves with lime, removing all the cob. ?

I'd like to know too. How did the lime plaster hold up? Hello ... anyone home? Did all the people die? Did the home fall down? What happened to Eden? Did it survive the madness of modern day or has it become an Airbnb Garden of Eden? Was it torn down because of regulations?!?! Everyone wants to know what happened. Thanks!

Hey there, thank you - I appreciate your video very much. I am repairing an old Taipal Adobe farm house and have stripped off all of the malicious plaster and was thinking of just applying lime plaster.. but seeing this and hearing, that you brushed off anything loose or flaky, I think it might not be possible.. I will probably have to at least apply a thin coating of a Adobe coat and then apply the lime plaster, because the walls are very dry and porous and everything is just crumbling off.. might be due to the fire they had 20 years ago.. anybody with enough experience here to tell me, what is the best I can do?

I imagine this didn’t hold up... am I wrong? I’ve heard applying lime directly to clay doesn’t bond well....
