1987 Toys'R'Us Silverhawks Christmas Commercial

1987 Toys R Us Christmas commercial for Silverhawks toys. Silverhawks was an animated series produced by Rankin-Bass. It began airing in 1986 and ran for 65 episodes. Kenner began production an action figure line based on the show in 1987. SilverHawks were similar to Kenners already successful toy line Super Powers Collection in that they incorporated an action feature. Each figure came with a bird companion or other accessory. There were various vehicles and beasts produced for the figures to interact with. The cartoon had stopped production in 1986 but was aired in wide syndication until 1988. When the cartoon ended the toy line and other Silverhawks merchandising soon followed.

This video, although perfectly suitable for children, is not intended for current children. It is meant for adults who were children when the commercial and toys originated. My intent is to preserve or refresh the memories of childhoods from the past and present some enjoyable nostalgia.
