When I use "South Asian" to describe someone I'm sometimes told it is racist and I need to use "desi." I was describing a geographic point of origin not a cultural identity because that sub-continent and bay is so diverse. By the way, that "bay" is larger than the Mediterranean Sea.

I hope people understand the lesson here. If you are a part of a minority, your opinion will not be taken into consideration unless you have people representing you in Congress.
And the only way to have people that represent you is to talk to the members of your community and convince them to vote.
Don't bother to complain about racism, racist people don't even know they are racist. Focus on representatives
