I miss the witch hat so much. It is one of the most "magical" pieces of stagecraft in an opening number. I find the blocking and "voguing" they do instead of it now is awkward and rushed. I really feel like they could have found a better solution over a decade and a half to cope with the lack of a trapdoor.
