#IWD2022: UN Women Executive Director’s message

In her message for International Women’s Day on 8 March 2022, UN Women Executive Director Sima Bahous recognizes the courage, resilience and leadership of women and girls as solution multipliers against the climate crisis.

This year, the theme for International Women’s Day, “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow,” draws a vital link between gender equality and climate change and emphasizes why women need to be at the heart and helm of climate adaptation, mitigation and solutions.

We must work together with all women and girls around the world, helping the most vulnerable of them, sharing efforts, learning from each other, and not leaving Anyone behind. Elder women, small girls require Our attention because there are several forms of violence and discrimination.
Executive Director, in my country there are many women being victims, revictimized by public servants. Many women are invisibilized.
My elder mother is one of them, my daughter and me and others.
Defending elder women I became a victim.
I discovered atrocities.
But every day I stand up, and I continue working hard again.
It is necessary more education and lose the fear to defend our rights. Women's rights are Human Rights.
We should defend it with passion, conviction but more important demanding concrete actions, our rights must be respected.
A time ago, I asked for your help Executive Director. I need your help, not only for me or my family but others women. I would like you know the story of many women that they lost her lives.
