There has to be more life all around our own galaxy. The odds against us being the only planet with life, specifically intelligent life, are way too high! Just, will we ever voyage to another planet with intelligent life is the question!

If they can see that it has a water surface, can they tell if it has free oxygen in the atmosphere? If so, that's a very good potential indicator of life.
