This movie was made at the perfect time because when it came out all of the arts really were being defunded in schools

I think you might have forgotten something very crucial: at the end we learn the whole story is being told on Olivia's perspective because she's writing her dad, who is in prison, a letter explaining everything that happened recently.

I love how Alex makes the joke about how all the characters have these great lives, but then he completely ignores the fact that Olivia's dad is in jail and she's living with her grandma.

The book is actually MUCH more mature than the movie; they made it more kid-friendly since it's Disney Channel. The book is very intense and powerful, which is probably why the movie turned out so well.

I never really understood why wen couldnt play when his eye was messed up. if you've practiced a song on piano, it becomes like 90% muscle memory

tbh, I found it crazy that Stella was throwing lemonade into the crowd considering that they were in glass bottles lol
