He talks about our future and how it upsets him because he's never going to be able to drive and pick them up from a night out like his parents did and he'll worry about their safety. We don't have children yet but we have been together 7 years now

Ah the pain is real. My sister and her husband had a baby and he's half blind and mostly deaf and needs a hearing aid and he says he's upset about the fact he might miss things like first words or her laughing for the first time. Like he's going to be an incredible dad and nothing will get in his way of raising that girl perfectly but being disabled has it's drawbacks, weirdly enough. Sarcasm asside the candor is important when it comes to disabled voices being heard because a lot of people look to us as fonts of positivity and hope when sometimes it's just hard and that's ok. It's more than ok! Life is tough, we carry on and find the joy!

I have a suggestion what about when the baby is born you wear a blindfold and now the both of you will have the same experience.
