I feel for you, Younger Boy. I never liked studying, school, OR practicing. I still did it though and worked diligently. My parents weren't pushy but I did it for them anyways because I knew it would make them happy and proud. It did indeed and now I know stuff and can do things others can't as a bonus. Still don't like school though - boring place where teachers know less than kids.

Dude, I'm like you maybe couple years older but close enough. Well, about HW, you don't have to spend more time than it takes to finish the HW. As soon as you finish it you can go do stuff. Also I recommend doing HW in class and on the way home. Helps alot.

Trust me when I say that making your kids study is the best thing for them. I was never even encouraged to study and it is awful in school now :p your son may not see it now but he's lucky. Crazy Russian dad is an awesome dad, kiddo.
