One of the most beautiful love songs ever heard.
Nellie was indeed a crucial part of Monk's life and well-being ❤

The inimitable Thelonious Monk. Like John Lewis, his greatest contributions to jazz are his compositions.

So people, which type of car do you play this in?
A Rolls-Royce perhaps. Round midnight? Legendary.

We all interpret music differently and extremely personally. I hear Nellie's strength and commitment to duty. Then I hear the daily routine of most wives and mothers. Sounds like Nellie used to tell him about himself sometimes. I hear forgive and forget and back to doing what she did to help their world go round. In the final ringing notes, I heard that he could get on Nellie's last nerve.
