The words that are spoken on the tape with the demon resurrection passages are actually spoken in Latin. At one point, they say, “Sam and Rob, Das ist Hikers Dan dee Roadsa.” This translates to, “Sam and Rob are the Hikers on the road.” This is a reference to the fact that Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert were actually playing the fishermen that wave to the car as it heads to the cabin in the beginning of the film. Also, Sam Raimi has reused his father’s 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 in over four movies of his. It is used as Ash’s car in Evil Dead, Uncle Ben’s car in Spider-Man, Annie’s car in The Gift, and Mrs. Ganoush’s car in Drag Me To Hell.
