204mph was extraordinary in 2001. I had a 93 Porsche 968 from this period and remember raves about the power, if not at all about the styling. I can see why on both counts. Thanks for this full beans demo, Max.

Hi Max, I 'm a 996 3, 6 c2 cab owner : sport chassis, sport exhaust, full stock for the rest. Just a cool car, undervalued because of porsche experts' taliban' mind, but what a car. Full equiped with michelin 4s for fun in curves.
Car bought 8 years ago, just magic ( charms of old porsche with the comfort of the new ones).

Good lord, its beautiful how easy this car reaches its top speed, cant believe that its already 23 years old. And I absolutely agree on the sound aspect, this Porsche sounds incredible despite the fact that its turbocharged, whereas the new ones sound more like vacuum cleaners. such a shame, but it also makes you appreciate older cars even more

Bought a 996TT manual years ago. The quality is top notch after 23 years. Hardly any maintenance, just regular stuff. The 996 is finally getting some credits !

I have driven the 996 GT3, but I can clearly see that the 996 made by RUF is on a completely different level. 🧐💯The suspension performance is particularly excellent, and it feels like the body rigidity, road grip, and steering response are all significantly higher in the RUF version. It's an amazing car!🏁

I owned a 2003 996 GT2, and it was my favorite car ever. One of the last true driver's cars; rear wheel drive only no traction control, no electronic nannies, just you and the car, and the thrill and challenge of making it go fast. I used to take it to various tracks here in Northern California, including Laguna Seca, and it was just amazing (once I'd fixed the factory understeer.)

My father has 996 from 2003 stock. He went 280 and still had some to give.
The headlights got a bad review but they are like this for aero. The engine is fantastic.
