As relatively new DVC members, this succinctly presented information on 7 month bookings was very helpful!!

This is the first time I've have about the guaranteed week and the term "walkers" for DVC. Thank you for all the great information. This video just earned "subscribe" status.

This was a very informative video!! First, I’m one of those people that waitlisted a room then found it available myself through daily site checking. Second, I’ve never walked a reservation. It irritates me slightly, but if some people want to go to the effort, it generally doesn’t affect me. Third, thank you for explaining the guaranteed week contracts. I’ve never paid attention to them and didn’t know how they worked. I understood it partially, but didn’t know how cancellations and rebooking would work.

Great tips, thanks! Especially the tip about being strategic with Waitlisting based on INVENTORY of the room types available. That was brilliant - I would have never thought about that.

Wow, this whole booking process sounds comparable to waking up for 8am to get an exclusive Funko pop 😂
These videos have so many awesome insider insights, I had no idea “walking” was a thing to look out for!

I think my brain isn’t processing the walking reservation... because I don’t get it, but I think I can see how it would be upsetting to others.

Thanks for the amazing booking tips!

If I have 100 points at Beach Club and 100 points at the boardwalk for example and my trip requires all 200 points to book at either one. Can I still book out 11 months in advance at either one even though it requires more points than what I have at that particular home resort? Thanks Jen.

Quick question: at about 4:20, you mentioned waitlisting a room, then jumping over to plan B, etc. Can you make the plan B reservation even though plan A is waitlisted? It sounds like, since plan A is waitlisted, not reserved, the points are still available, and you can make the plan B reservation. And if you make the plan B reservation, does plan A go away? Thank you :) !

Great information! I’m new to this so I didn’t realize the guaranteed week contracts have the option of canceling then rebooking at a more appropriate time.

Question about this though...you mentioned the guaranteed week costs 10% more points to book. If canceled, do owners of a contract like this then have 10% more points to spend? This all went over my head! 😂😨

We are new to DVC and own at GF. It let me book Poly for January (5 months out) is this an error?

Any ideas why the 7 month day keeps showing waitlist only but no days before or after? I’ve been checking daily for about four days and every day the first day that can be booked (7 mo window) is waitlist only but no days before or after. Then the next day that previous day shows available and then the 7 mo day shows waitlist only).

I have a question that's kind of taboo on the message boards, since everything seems to be sponsered by a point rental company...there is at least one company that rents already-made reservations. I think the intent in the beginning was to help people who had to cancel last minute and didn't want to lose the points. But now it seems like there are tons of reservations for the busiest times way in advance. So, is this company taking up all the good reservations to jack up the price while families struggle to piece a week together? I'm sure you don't know, but I wondered if it's something people have talked about.

For a 10 day split stay, Is it better to book separate reservations at you home resort so that at 7 months you can waitlist only 1 of the reservations.

Hey Jen - where do you hold contracts now? I'm thinking of purchasing a second one after just getting our first at By looking at what's available at 7 months. It seems jambo house and copper creek are really hard to get! Boardwalk is hard to, but. I don't think I can buy there due to the expiration date. x

With you on walking, do it for the special anniversary, not for each of them.
