I've had 4 Corollas. Very dependable, and if you want to get from 0 to 60 in 7-10 business days this is the car for you!

One of the most reliable cars out there love the aesthetics

Back in the day FXGT Corollla was a fun 3 door Hatchback, 1600 manual that howled when done right . Look at it now, it’s a cvt auto 4 door depression .

Have corolla with 780, 678 k miles still running strong

Corolla and sports sedan are two words I never thought I'd see in the same sentence, let alone the bingo card. But here we are.

The pricing is a head scratcher since the 2025 Camry LE is priced the same

*8:18** iPad glued to the dash looks absolutely ridiculous. In about 10 years we are going to look back on this design and laugh. Well, I'm ahead of the curve and laughing now. What an abomination.*

Joe! Love the history you dive in on each of these reviews! I have to zonk the HP, especially when they have a 4 cylinder putting out 200hp. Would’ve been nice to have a sporty version without going full GR.

Thanks for tracking down the Toyota Corolla FX and presenting the car! Also, I love your history of the FX series!

They’re so great at A to B for years and years but definitely not sporty fun in any imagination …

Looks nice, but the only thing unique about it are the wheels. The spoiler is the old Apex spoiler, I had that as an option on in my 21' SE. Supposedly it has lowering springs, but it looks like a stock height car to me. The bigger screen is nicer than the one I had, but everything else looks the same. It's like an SE with some XSE things.

Oh dang, I didn't know they brought back the FX name! I learned to drive on a 1987 Corolla FX hatch with a 5 speed. ❤

I had an 87 FX16 it was almost ahead of its time with a fuel injected DOHC, a 7500 redline, 4 wheel disc brakes and IRS it even had strut braces stock. All that back then was rare - too bad they didn't follow through with the actual performance aspect of this nameplate...

I owned two corolla, one was 1981, I drove that 20 years and sold it. I am sure it is still on the road. And my other one drove better than my FRS. They are economical cars which are good for people who need to save money.

It’s shocking how two cars positioned just one class from each other are so different. Every Corolla I’ve ever driven is depressing yet the Camry’s a dream.

Still think this generation of Corolla looks great without going over the top. CVT may not be exciting but it gets the job done and saves some fuel in the long run...great review as always Joe!
