DIY Arduino Geiger Counter

Thanks for watching! Now it is worth mentioning that I actually have no schematics for this circuit because I built it piece by piece whenever an idea came to mind. I apologize to anyone who watches this video wants to recreate it exactly due to the lack of schematics!

Neat work. I was wondering why you use an resistor at the negative pole of the sbt10a (Pin11). For sure you need them at all the positive ones (1-10), but why exactly do you use a resistor at the output pin?

You've done a lot of good work here. I suggest you make a video documenting and preserving your design. In the video, show how you transfer your working project to a schematic, and wrap it up, code and all, and put it somewhere. I like the idea of using Github as a repository for posterity. 😁 I would also suggest showing how you determine the correct resistance for limiting the current flow through the Geiger tube, and calibrating the circuit for a particular Geiger tube.

Can you please list the components use for this project

Really great project, I think you could’ve used arduino code available online although coding it yourself sounds cool. Also you are way over kill on protecting yourself from that uraninite sample, it is better to be careful but for a piece like that you don’t really need much protection besides a sealed plastic bag and gloves if you are handling it directly and that’s still kinda overkill .im a bit too relaxed maybe, I don’t always wear gloves but I do make sure only to open the sealed containers outside as particles and radon are more dangerous than the radiation.Keep using the lead shielding more safety’s never bad, it’s just overkill for me.

Another great video, keep it up! Also, I really enjoy the vacuum videos, will we have another update soon?

could you link the arduino sketch, 555 circuitry, and how to attach the HV to it all.

Can you have an analog dial style counter on it?

Hi there do you have the source code you used? Thank you

Hey, did you have the schematic and codes? I works with ambiental radiation detection, and like to upgrade my ionization chamber and maybe build a geiger counter. Thank you

Hi, I'm starting a research with radiation and I'm looking for a way to characterize the radiation types.
Can your project make such a thing?
My idea is build a device that is capable of detect radiation and distinguish them based on some particular aspect, like a signature, with most low budget possible.
It's my final undergrad project.
