King of Fighters 14 Review - The Final Verdict

King of Fighters remains what it has always been with its latest entry: a niche fighter with a great cast, an unforgiving learning curve, and a lot of heart anchored by an incredible fighting engine. It’s not for everyone; no game is. But if you’re willing to dedicate yourself to it, and learn it, it’s a tournament worth entering and a fight worth fighting, all these years later.

I think this is a great game which
I really enjoy playing and I would
like to cover this game even more in future
when it comes to tutorials, combo & tech vids,
highlight reels, player spotlights etc.
KoF14 is sth really new to me gameplay wise. Been trying out many characters and ended up maining Meitenkun.
He feels like a KoF version of Guile & Deathstroke with charge moves.
Now I am looking for two more characters for my team
that would fit my playstyle.
Hitting the lab whenever I got time after work to figure out stuff.
SNK also put in the Shanghai stage,
the city where I was actually born, into this game <3.
It will def. take me a while to get on a decent skill
lvl, but I am here to learn from my mistakes / to improve,
having fun, playing good games and meeting a
new KoF community. :)

Berserk 2016 also suffers from a lack of texture on the model's skin. But unlike Berserk, King of Fighters 14's comes off more charming than dull to me. They appear like moving porcelain dolls. In cool clothes. Especially Terry. He's cool as shit.

The game movement is smooth and the netcode works great and the game got good content any fighting games fan will be interested to buy it.

I dont like how this game doesnt have a true story mode, same thing with samurai shodown. I'm my opinion if your gonna make a fighting game you gotta have the content of something like mk11 or even street fighter 5 (now). An arcade mode isnt a story mode. Hopefully SNK will get with the times and KOF15 will get an actual single player story mode

What the hell do you mean "not a lot of variety" like, the tower modes on Mortal kombat and the such? which is by the way just more fighting.
Seriusly its a fighting game all the modes are about fighting.

the netcode sucks till the patch comes out not playing it and you have to register character teams.that sucks too

I don't know why but KOF's characters' movements are more rigid than Street Fighters.

I am beta testing the Steam edition right now and I'm not impressed. I love kof13 but I should accept that it stopped there.

Most people probably think "oh, the graphics aren't that bad, what's the big deal?" Go play Mortal Kombat XL and then come back to watch this footage. The graphics are painfully outdated.

meh 13 was uglier. the neo geo sprites are master race and the colors in 14 are very nice.
