I used to sleep there when I was homeless. It was incredibly hard to get in any shelter nearby. I even slept at the airport and sometimes on the Marta train. I was fortunate to find shelter for a month in Cobb county at a shelter. But after my time was up I was back on the streets. I finally did get housing through some people at Crossroads. I've been in transitional housing for over a year now and am working. I feel blessed to be able to have a chance to get my life back in order.

This is Disgusting! Offer the people fair resources, temporary homes and safety. They are humans in unfortunate circumstances, not trash. Do better Atlanta.

This is so sad. So the county is going to arrest/punish them for being homeless?? I really pray that resources become available soon so these people are able to receive shelter and gain some sort of stability.

Met a homeless woman who lost everything in the 2008 recession. Had a husband, family, nice white-picket fence suburban middle class life, etc before she got foreclosed on. Being homeless can happen to anyone. They are human beings just like the rest of us.

I see two sides of a coin that can't pay for anything. On one side, the face of people who both deserve and don't deserve the hardships they endure, self inflicted or inflicted from the world. The other side shows the tale of what happens when you give more to those who can't or don't work, while leaving the ones who do to fend for themselves. This inevitably leads to one side falling to the other, as the coin flips and lands by chance. But no matter which side it lands on, whichever side you choose or have chosen for you, in the end... They still suffer.

there are some that don't care about getting arrested. it's temporary housing, food, water, showers. however, we need to do better with the homeless population.

What I see in Atlanta I have never seen before. So many homeless and mentally ill POC are on the streets. Where are the social service agencies, where are the homeless shelters? Until this city helps those that can’t help themselves, it will continue to be morally bankrupt.

Why is this sad news? The fact that they’re living outside in the first place is what’s really messed up.

Welcome to Hotlanta🔥🔥🔥!!! A city where you cam watch them tear down the natural habit for the animals to build high end homes that only the builders 👷‍♂️👷‍♀️ and the rich and part of the gentrification movement can afford. A city where a well-known shelter... no, several well-known shelters have been closed to create businesses for the elite who at some point become a part of the homeless community and live on the sidewalks until they're swept 😳 and move to the natural habitat of the animals until they are swept 😳 and thus the movement to move the poor underpaid and underprivileged to the next empty space. And people still want to move here thinking that they will live the life of reality TV stars who in some cases are actually rich but broken. 🤦🏾‍♀️😳😑😒 STOP BUILDING HOMES FOR THE HOMELESS PEOPLE TO LOOK AT! HOW BOUT THAT? 😳😑🙄

I feel bad for people who actually want help but a lot of homeless people don't want to help. They're either mentally ill, on drugs or both

Hurting people just so you don't have to deal with the inconvenience of seeing them. That sounds pretty evil to me.
