Bear claimed to be 'human in disguise' waves at zoo-goers

A bear that became a social media celebrity after visitors claimed it looked like a “human in disguise” has been filmed appearing to wave at zoo-goers.

Some 20,000 visitors are heading to Hangzhou Zoo in eastern China every day - an increase of almost a third - since the sun bear, known as Angela, went viral.

Footage has now emerged of the bear standing on its hind legs waving its right paw to the people gathered around its enclosure.

When he is on 2 legs he looks totally human. Once he gets down on all fours it's definitely a bear.

The bear is real. These particular bears act in this way, and when they stand up, it does look unusual, but that is exactly what they do. if this were fake, it would be really obvious.

I have seen sun bear in the wild.... Yes they really good at standing on two feet... And i believe since this bear have been taken care by human since cub... He/she might be have adapt to human behaviour

That's a sun bear. Nature's equivalent of someone whispering bear from another room and having your friend who always got a C in art class draw it

Why is the bear or human kept in such bleak surroundings . They shoud be near trees and greeneey. This is pure cruelty and people who pay to see this are encouraging the practice

Hate seeing Bears behind bars and barbed wire fences. They suffer a lot of cruelty in this world when we should be protecting them

not surprised if the bear has picked up on human traits…. It’s in a zoo behind bars. Sees humans everyday. everytime he waves they probably Chuck him something to eat so that’s why he does it. He’s that used to seeing humans it’s like he’s started being one himself crazy to say 🤔 does seem like he gets something everytime he waves like it’s some sort of trick they’ve taught him… there’s another bear that does the same thing and expects a reward there’s a video of it somewhere on YouTube. Hate seeing them behind bars.. but i also hate that us as humans are responsible for tearing down their habitats and using their carcasses for medicine. sometimes this does make me dislike the world we live in… it’s just so sad… 😔

Why don't they show more of the clip? Right near the end of that clip it seems to show the rear legs move in such a way that human jointed legs cannot move. There is a reason it stops at 29 seconds and not a full minute or longer.
