Thanks for getting me up and running! This helped a lot with my new audio hardware. I got a Samson Q2u dynamic mic and M-Audio M-Track Solo interface. The gain was too low and I felt like getting something to boost the signal. In this case, I was able to "fix i in post" and get the gain to a good level.

Also, to delete a section, I was able to simply select the range and hit "delete" on the keyboard. It got rid of the selection and closed the gap -- if you want that result. The method you suggest allows us to keep the timing, but getting rid of the unwanted sections.

Great tutorial, thanks! How would I remove special sounds, like inhales or smacking the lips, but without removing the whole section (because I obviously want to leave the space there in between words)?

Thank you for the tutorial, it's my first introduction to Audacity, not sure if it's just on a Mac but incase anyone else is affected I found that to find my 'project sample rate' I had to click 'Audio Setup button > Audio Settings' as it doesn't appear in the bottom left of my screen as it does in yours :)

I recently watched an Audacity tutorial that was about 45 minutes long. His video had a couple of details that your vid did not include; however, his video was FORTY FIVE minutes long lol. In 8 minutes you covered just as much info with better polish too. Great job!

hi Mike. great tutorial, one of the better videos ive seen. im an Audacity newbee and a recorder player (what some call a block flute). id like to enhance the audio of videos of my playing. ive figured out how to modify the audio from a recorded video with Audacity. is there any way to get the modified audio paired with the original video so i could upload to youtube? i cant seem to find any information on this and you seem to be about the best source of info i can find on Audacity. any help would be appreciated.
