POV: You break your streak.
You wake up, earlier than you ever did on any day. You suddenly remember, about your Duolingo streak. For 2 days, you didn’t have enough time to do your streak. You have no gems, or streak freezes. You go on your phone/ipad, and you see your Duolingo icon [widget]. It says that you have broken your streak, but you don’t really care. You go brush your teeth, in the middle of brushing your teeth, you hear a loud knock on your front door. You don’t mind it and finish. You go back to your bed and sit down. You get your tv remote and turn on your tv. You feel relaxed, until, you hear the same loud knocking again. You think it’s your friend pranking you, so you call him. You ask, “Hey, stop knocking on my front door, it’s really annoying.” And he replies with, “I was never at your house in the first place. You woke me up, too.” Since it isn’t your friend, you think it’s just the wind. You don’t think much about it, until the knocking gets *louder.* You get really tired of the ‘prank’ so you go to your front door.. to confront ‘whoever’ is doing it. Surprise, surprise! There’s no one. So, you just go back to your bed. It continues. Now, you start to think, “Why is this all happening on the day my streak broke? Does it have to do something with Duolingo?” You have to prepare, before he comes. First, you turn off all electronics in the house. Second, you close all windows and doors. Third, you take bags and pack all of your food, water, etc in the bags. Fourth, you turn off all the lights, then finally, you go to your bedroom and hide under your bed. The knocking gets louder, and louder, until Duolingo breaks down your door. You hear his footsteps.. louder, and louder.. you know he’s coming into your bedroom. You try to hide and not make noise. A green, tiny, feather falls and lands underneath your bed. You hold your breath, as Duolingo might even hear you *breathing.*
[10 LIKES FOR PART TWO!] part 2!You feel calm, as you hear Duolingo walking out of your bedroom. As minutes past by, you start to feel a little bit hungry. You open your bag of snacks/food, and just eat a little bit. You take a drink, but you have to open it quietly. You take a sip, but it *might* be too loud. As you look around your surroundings, you see more, and more green feathers. Duolingo might have heard something..! You breathe very quietly, and Duolingo doesn’t hear! You can repeat this process, but Duolingo might not leave. Duolingo finally leaves, after *minutes, * and *minutes* of just walking around your bedroom. He leaves the house, waiting for *tomorrow.*
[🔴THE NEXT DAY🔴]
You wake up, still under your bed.. it wasn’t much— of a comfortable sleep. *At least you got some sleep.* You want some breakfast, you open your bag of snacks. You just eat some cereal for breakfast. Until, Duolingo comes in *again.* You sigh, as you have to deal with this again. But this time, he’s smarter. He checks under the bed, but your shadows make you look like theres no one there. So, he leaves. You listen closely, you don’t hear him. He might just be in another room. You get your phone out to call for help, but Duolingo might hear you.
