How to Connect Rode Microphones to iPhone With USB C #shorts

Can you connect Rode microphones to an iPhone with any USB C to lightning cable? Unfortunately, no. This connection requires use of Rode's own SC15 or SC19 USB C to lightning cables.

you just need an OTG adapter, like almost all USB peripherals need to work on a phone. Relax.

Was about to pull the trigger on this mic when I realized I need: a custom WS12 deadcat (not included | € 27), a SC17 usb-c cable for my mac (not included | € 19) and a lightning cable for my iPhone (not included | € 25). Rounding off the grand total of a € 100 mic to about € 170. That is a joke, especially since so many other Rode products and competitors offer similar cables as standard. Moreover, cost price of these accessories is likely less than € 10. Making this legal theft. Poor call from Rode imo.

Sorry but you are wrong. I only use Rode mics for certain things and yes you can use a type c cord with rode on iphones. I use a
Lightning to USB adapter OTG and use any type c cord with a usb at the end and plug that into my OTG. You do not need to buy rodes own cables.
