My heart really goes out to these folks. I lost everything in a hurricane many years ago so I understand the devastation one feels in situations like this. May all be made as whole as possible as soon as possible. Bless the Salvation Army for all they are doing and do do for countless people in need.

Bravo on this segment!!! To actually see the pictures and people affected is devastating to see but being empowered to have a game plan in place is reality.

Air quality in Northern Utah is Horrible!
Can't see one block away from all the smoke down to the ground like a fog.
Very toxic! My💜goes out to you all who lost everything 😪

Have a bug out bag. Backpack with important documents or copies, change of clothes, snacks, water, flashlight, medications, etc. Keep it by your door. In a fire or earthquake your adrenaline is going and being prepared, not scared, will keep you safe.

You'd think after years of this happening in California they would learn to do controlled land burning to stop the spread, like they do in south Africa.

Things can be replaced. Human life and family are the most important. Thank you to all the firefighters out there.

Some how pets are nearly always the last on one's mind when evacuating. It's important, if you live in an area prone to fires, hurricanes, and tornados to have an emergency kit ready. Every one just rolls their eyes at the LDS/Mormons when they hear about our prep for emergencies. But everybody should have a kit, 7 days of emergency meds, 3-5 days of bottled water, medical records, veterinary papers for your pets, 3-5 days of food/diapers/formula. And keep a pet carrier within easy reach, cats tend to hide so get to know their hiding spots so you know where to look first.

I went through the evacuations during the CZU fire. I know way too many people who lost their homes. This brings back a lot of painful memories from last year

Here's an idea. Start managing your forests and allow grazing.
So the rest of the states don't have to put up with your smoke
