The reason you don't see an explosion for those missiles is laser won't necessarily EXPLODE a missile - it can get same results without the explosion - by just putting a hole in the missile - that will cause the missile to fail in it's flight (aerodynamics failure) - it won't explode immediately - but it will fall out of the sky right down and explode over that territory instead of where it was aiming for...
