Cave Honi Liagi (South-East Attica)

Cave Honi Liagi is near the modern settlement of Markopoulo, at Mt. Merenda (120m altitude). The cave has a constant reclining formation, with multiple levels. Only trained cavers can access the cave, with the use of ropes and caving techniques. The cave had a rich rock formation, unfortunately now destroyed by the modern industrial activity in the area. It was also used as a dumping ground, causing further environmental pollution. There is no life in the cave, apart from a few spiders and insects. The cave today is clear,restored by its former pollution and safe for the health of the cavers.
