Joshua, while imperfect (as are we all), finished well, by obeying what he had learned from Moses, and developing his own relationship with God. King Joash, who became king as a boy, began well, since the high priest was a true follower of God, and taught Joash. However, after the high priest was killed, King Joash turned away. It proves that having a good start does not necessarily mean a good end. To end well, the believer must continue to develop his/her relationship with the Lord; read and meditate on the Word daily, seeking to obey it; and focus on the Lord Jesus Christ, Who is faithful to help in following Him. As the true believer prays, the Holy Spirit is faithful to help him/her deal with whatever needs to be dealt with, and as the believer yields to the Spirit, he/she is transformed in their soul (mind, will, and emotions), becoming a fully devoted follower of Christ and used to further God’s Kingdom work here on earth.  Thanks for the teaching, Dr. G.
